New Year’s Eve Eve Eve

New year’s Eve Eve Eve,
We are walking 45 degrees down on the snow flakes covered cute street.
Though we are young,
Our hunched over bodies and halting steps briefly turn us
Into grandfathers and grandmothers as we
Try to descend the hill without
Breaking our necks.

As they sit around, each a bamboo cupful of burnt rice makkoli (누릉지 막걸리),
They marvel at the serendipity unfolding.
It must be a magical night.
Something electric!

Yes, it must be!
How can it be luckier to get a free ice (3100) on a -10 degree Celsius snowy day,
Or sneak into a pre-marriage party with free food/drinks?
Let’s see, maybe more magics are coming up!

It must be so.
Every winter breeze that blusters through the door, every smile that flickers on the faces of the wedding guests,
Every drop of wine that tumbles down the open throats of the
Bride and groom, is flecked with mischief and mystery.

Beck’s DARK beers passing around, “난 쌔거가 좋아!” voices piling up over one another,
An orchestra of shouts.
Korean style. One shot. Love shot.
But jazz?
Yes, jazz.
Jazz and dim lighting.

And then…
we are flying on the clouds
and then…
A mouse, a tiger, and a snake
Space the stars are out there
But you don’t know where they are
By ourselves we get lost easily
I call my friends my...
My reference Stars! and the smiles :)

Rebirth!

They just chose to be happy and cheerful today.
Is it your birthdate or unbirthdate?

It’s our birthday. The day when love was born, beautiful.
Intentions are formed and positive vibes are full of the air.

The piano plays its endless riffs.
Its constant repetition is not tiresome but rather a reflection of life.
Filled with many of the same notes played over again
Each day, yet if we listen with our full mind,
The last identical stanza is as vivid and wondrous as the very first.

Our bodies are eager to move now!
We want to walk.
So we will see our way back in the snow again…
Time to say goodbye to this magical little bar.

Queen comes on.
Freddy Mercury can signal a dramatic exit like no other voice in the whole of sentient history.
And so,
As the climbing harmonies ascend and the piano tinkles,
We trickle away from this spot on destiny’s continuum
And onto another,
Our path at every step dusted by falling snow and fairy dust.
